Holy moly here it is like the 3rd week of school..........jeez thats nuts. Anyway so this past weekend started early for me. After my three hour fine cooking class lab (we made stock, had a knife demo, made salsa that was yuck, and soup!) I boogied it on outta here for home. For the next morning my parents and grandma were on our way to lovely Vernal Utah for a funeral. Yup my great aunt Dona died.......sad but it was time. So 7 hours of driving and a short but sweet funeral, cake and relatives; all in all it was worth missing my friday classes and I wanted to show my respects. She liked me. So that was Friday.
Saturday me and my best friend, Karlie and our friend Emily met up for a movie, Easy A. Why we did, I dont know. Perhaps we were secretly feeling a little devilish, or I would say it was the intriguing previews for this flick. Basically this girl, which I really liked her character and personality she portrayed in this movie, feels bad for some of the guy "losers" of the school and does "favors" for them but really she doesn't. Its pretend, but everyone believes it anyway, so typical of high schoolers these days... Anyway things of course spiral out of control and she soon is known as basically the high school prostitute. The movie carries on and eventually she finds prince charming and she winds up telling the truth via video blog which the whole movie is! Kinda clever i thought... Anyway it definitly was one of those trashy teen movies but it had some funny parts and the story line I liked it. Thats all I have to say about that...
Yesterday was a bust, had pink eye, stayed home from church and read my never ending alien ch. 3 in my textbook AND watched the Patriots lose to the dang Jets.
Anyway today is definitly feeling like a monday. Test tomorrow and wednesday. Oh boy.

Back in the saddle again...
So classes started today. Moved in last Thursday with the last of the 3 car loads of my stuff up here......haha I think I have just a little too much. Oh well! The roommates are great, all of them, they all are cute and different in there own way. Its never going to be boring in room 101. ;)
Anyway the move/transition was going great until Saturday morning, holy crap....I get in my wheelchair and the new cna is here to get trained, and I can't even sit in my chair. Basically I had to just go back to bed. After 2 hours of misery and messing with it, one of my dear roommates and my mom were able to get it working!
Had two classes today, a cooking type class and chemistry...........again......yeah, round 2 here I come.
Anyway, I feel good about it up here, I am ready for what comes.

Pokes, a back to school haircut, and a rainy soggy day
Yesterday was a whirlwind of a day.....started off waking up early getting ready and taking Grandma back to her house. She spent 2 nights here after her cataract eye surgery, anyhew! After dropping her off me and my mother raced to The U of U hospital for my dietitian appointment. Its kinda funny, we didn't really want an appointment, this all came about from my mother calling to ask for nutritional information on this new weight gain shake that a good friend suggested.
So before I know it I'm talking with a dietitian and we are coming up with a plan to start a serious weight gain. I'm extremely motivated and am ready to give it my best.
After that another medical professional came in, now she is what I like to call a little bit too overboard. She quickly insisted I get my blood drawn and checked for various things, and a pee test.....lol guess urine sample is more correct to say. I don't really mind doing these type of tests, even though I'm almost impossible to get blood from, I just like hearing that everything is normal inside me haha :)
So off to the lab we went. Blood was decided to be done first. The blood drawer lady was very nice and I felt confident in her until she said "yesterday a poor girl here had to be stuck 6 times." Ah great! Don't tell me that haha. I right of the bat told her I was not easy to draw blood from, and that they usually do it from my hand but I really wanted to try to avoid the hands cuz they bruise terribly. She was down for that and tried my for arm, it didnt hurt at all and was working then all of a sudden the blood stopped. So then she tried the inside of my elbow on the other arm, hurt going in and was coming good until the needle fell out! Thats when I started feeling sick and turned white.....I don't know why this happens, blood does not bother me but I usually find myself getting sick if they take too long. I think its my body's way of saying stop it! The lady felt bad and was like " I'm only allowed two tries, let me go get someone else." So this not happy lady comes and gives it a go. She tried the elbow spot again, that was not good at all. Finally I was like just go for my hand....long behold it worked like a charm. So for future notice if I have bruised gross looking hands, you'll know why. ;) I then quickly did the pee sample.....so much better then getting poked for blood! That whole ordeal took an hour or more..... Then we were off to my hair appointment.
I have 14 min to get from downtown salt lake to kaysville. The rain is pouring. I was stressing. Its just a hair appointment right? Well, with the salon I go to you have to understand something...Its a very nice salon and everyone is nice.......unless your late. We have been late a few times in the past and its like the second you walk through those doors more then 5 minutes, then your treated like the trash of the world and your hair cutter turns into an instant.....hmmmmm.....bi*** if you know what I mean. Why do I put up with this you wonder? Well they cut and style so good I don't dare put my hair in anyone's else hands. So yesterday, I'm ten minutes late and thank goodness she doesnt transform in to a wicked witch of the West. All she says I may not have time to style it like you like it. Dissapointed, but a necessary compromise. She got the job done though. My bangs are back in business, I can actually see out of my left eye now and successfully put mascara on with out turning the tips of m bangs black. ;) so I pleased with it.
They rest of the day consisted of being home, sore arms and a Patriots game :D :D

A little dose of what it takes to follow your dreams...
So before my grand adventure (of giving going to Utah State a second go) many things had to fall into place, and let me tell you they didn't until the last minute....(still not done yet!)
Many hurdles came rushing my way as vacations ended and summer started coming to a close. The biggest would of had to of been getting the 2 hours of nurses aides that I am supposed to be able to get just like that. Well boy, it didn't happen just like that...We called the agency I had when I was up in Logan before, thinking I could just get right back on board with them. Umm no, things are never quite that easy in the world of medicaid/insurance/government, unfortunately. The reason this home health care agency could no longer help me they said, was because they no longer accept medicaid only patients; due to the fact that medicaid owed them lots of $$$$. A brief FYI for those of you that don't know...Medicaid (sparing you all of the nitty gritty details) is basically medical insurance given to those with certain disabilities which was established July 30, 1965, through Title XIX of the Social Security Act (little free history lesson for ya) , of course many stipulations apply as do all government run programs. I wondered if it had to do with "Obama-care" they said no, but I have my doubts......but anyway, at first I was at a loss....."now what?!" My awesome mother quickly reminded me they are not the only home healthcare agency in Logan, despite how much I was impressed with them. So quickly the many MANY phone calls to other agencies began....
My mom put in phone calls to two other agencies. The first one we actually knew the director through a mutual friend. We thought oh great, maybe she can pull some strings for me.......umm no that was so far from any possibility. Quick lesson learned here: It doesn't always pay to know someone. ;) What also bugged me about this agency, is the insisted that I would have to use a hoyer lift, to insure that their CNA's don't injure their backs. HELLO, if you cant lift 50 lbs (about my weight) then why the heck are you a CNA? So that agency didn't make the cut!
Finally we got an agency that agreed to take me on, despite that I'm on medicaid and can't use a hoyer lift. I was so happy. I have yet to meet with them, but they have put in a Dr.'s orders, so things must be legit.
Other minor hurdles have been getting the door opener installed on my dorm room door (that is still being worked on), getting parking passes for my CNA'S, figuring out how to utilize my mandatory meal plan independently, oh and getting my messed up room assignment figured out.
The messed up room assignment was potentially a huge disaster waiting to happen. But I was on top of things and quickly set things straight...The room the maintenance personnel said was mine, was a private room but that was the only perk I could give it. It seriously was the size of my bathroom at home, and I could barely turn around. I mean heck! I would rather deal with a roommate in my bedroom then live in that prison cell style room (ok thats a bit of an exaggeration) When I first saw it, in my head I had a little panic freak out session, while all the while just smiling while the maintenance guys asked what needed moved out. The rest of the apartment dorm, spectacular! When we got home from Logan and after looking at my room assignment records we realized something screwy was up. The room on the paper was not the room they showed me, and not only that the price was out of this world too high. But it all ended good! Turns out I get a room intended for 2 all to myself at the single price! I'm ecstatic about the room ;)
Anyway thats pretty much it, dad is taking a load of the big stuff such as my bed, desk, and nightstand, up on Friday. Classes start on the 30th (not the 23rd, like I originally thought; huge dumb blonde moment) and I will move in the Friday before school starts. Everything worth while is a work in progress. Stay tuned for more, and PICTURES!
